Black Jack Saddle Club Plans Activities

Activities of the Black Jack Saddle Club are underway, according to President Justine Staten.

Second meeting of the year is Tuesday evening, April 10, 7 o’clock, at Vista Restaurant. All members and interested persons are welcome to attend.

A full day of activities is planned by the club Saturday, April 14, beginning at 8 o’clock in Cico Park, Manhattan.

Lauren Schiller of Little Apple Rides will conduct a training and lesson program for both English and Western disciplines.

Riders of all ages have been welcome to attend, but participants should be able to control their horse without assistance. Information is available from vice president Vicki Smith at vsmith8768@gmail.com.

Black Jack activities, April 14, continue with an open arena, at 11 o’clock. All riders are welcome with trail and speed equipment available for use.

Potluck lunch will be shared at noon with partakers requested to bring a food dish. A fun show with games on horseback begins at 1 o’clock continuing to mid-afternoon.

Six Black Jack Saddle Club point shows for yearend awards are on the schedule. They include Saturday, May 5, Cico Park; Saturday, June 2, Stanley Stout Center Arena; Saturday, July 7, Stanley Stout Center Arena;Saturday, Aug. 11, Cico Park; Sunday, Sept. 2, Cico Park; and Sunday, Oct. 7, Cico Park.

All shows are open to all riders with age-division performance and speed events. There are awards in every class as well as high point prizes.
