Unique Consignments For Benefit Auction Planned At Gardner Sunday Afternoon

Auctioneers and friends have organized to support one of their own.

“A benefit auction is planned for Tom Lindsay Jr. and his wife, Karen, to assist with unfortunate legal expenses which have arisen,” announced Dave Webb, auctioneer at Stilwell, who has been instrumental in its coordination.

Featuring a wide array of consignments donated by friends and many members of the Kansas Auctioneers Association (KAA), the auction is set for Sunday, Nov. 17, starting at 2 o’clock at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Gardner.

Lindsay and his dad, Tom Lindsay Sr., are lifetime auctioneers headquartered at Shawnee, having served in numerous leadership roles among state and national auction groups.

Webb, a past president of the KAA, explained, “We have been friends and acquaintances of the Lindsay family for many years. They have been great ambassadors for the auction profession. This auction arranged and conducted by friends of the Lindsay family is to provide some additional funds, support and love for them. Please bring your items for the auction that day.

“There will be many auctioneers on hand to assist in selling and working the ring. This is a volunteer event, and we encourage you to participate,” Webb welcomed.

Information and questions about donating and purchasing sale items can be directed to Webb at 913-681-8600, or e-mail to dwebb@dlwebb.com.

Sampling of early consignment includes John Deere and IHC collectibles, 2000 GMC one-ton flatbed truck, 32-inch flat screen TV, eight-inch Android tablet, 580 WIBW advertising certificate, special event carriage rides from Buchman’s Double B Ranch, Kings Crown quilt, racecar collections, antiques, and other collectibles, plus many unique and valuable items with additional consignments daily.

There will be online bidding available via the DV Auction link, http://dvauction.com. “As with all of the donations made for this important benefit auction, we deeply appreciate the online-bidding service being donated by DV Auction,” Webb credited.

“Terms for the sale as with most auctions will be cash, credit cards and personal check, with statements day of auction taking precedence over any advance publicity. Sale organizers will not be responsible for accident, lost items or misrepresentation of sale items, which will be sold as is without warranty expressed or implied,” Webb clarified.

Following the auction, there will be a whole hog meal, but those attending have been requested to bring a covered dish.
