“It’s a place where Christ and our Western heritage live together.”
Located at “Williamstown,” right by the Intersections of Highways 59 and 24, east of Perry, the “mission” at “Triple C,” as regular attendees and others in the community and afar refer to the church, is “three fold,” Pastor Newell contended.
“We demonstrate the restoration of life that comes with God’s grace, and mentor others by living out our faith in every aspect of our lives.
“The Crossroads Cowboy Church provides an opportunity for people to build relationships with the Western culture by providing different activities including rodeo bible camps, rodeos, team penning contests, trail rides, barrel racing, cutting and various other activities that draw people back to the family,” Pastor Newell explained.
To assist in sponsorship and funding this array of activities, especially for the youth, “Triple C” has scheduled the fourth annual Crossroads Cowboy Church Youth Auction Sunday, April 13, 1 o’clock, at the church arena with an official address of 1255 Oat Street, Perry, announced Col. Bob Clark, church member who’s been instrumental in coordination of the fundraiser.
Col. Clark, auctioneer for C&C Auction Service, and Col. Lonny Houk of Rockin’ Angel Benefits Auctions, will provide auctioneering services for the sale, which is to feature a wide variety of Western tack, hats, memorabilia and equipment.
“Be sure to come early to register for your bidder’s number, and have lunch starting at noon provided by the Crossroads Cowboy Church,” insisted Pastor Newell.
Among early auction consignments are a bass boat, a variety of sports collections, new and other household items, shop equipment, tools and white vinyl rail fencing. “It is impossible to list all of the consignments that we are receiving daily, and donations will be accepted until the time of the sale,” Col. Clark said.
“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it,” Pastor Newell quoted Proverbs 22:6. “That’s our philosophy here at ‘Triple C,’ and many of our activities are centered on the youth of our church.
“We are planning our annual Youth Rodeo Bible Camp in Gardner, June 21 through 29, with juniors the first three days, and seniors for the remainder of the camp,” Pastor Newell noted.
“Everything is faith oriented. We have prayer and devotions before every activity at the ‘Triple C,’” Col. Clark emphasized.
