“Grab your hat, put on your spurs, bring your lawn chair, if you’re not riding your horse or planning to get on a bronc or bull, and let’s rodeo,” welcomed Deb Dillner.
“It’s time for the fourth annual Jackson County Rodeo, Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, at the Northeast Kansas Heritage Complex south of Holton on Highway 75,” continued Dillner, leader in the Jackson County Fair Association, rodeo sponsor.
With championship livestock again provided by Kraft Rodeo Company of Abbyville, rodeo competition will get underway at 8 o’clock each evening, with gates opening at 6 o’clock.
Events are to include ranch-style bronc riding, team roping, bareback bronc riding, tie down calf roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, steer wrestling and wild bull riding.
Special competitions for “the little buckaroos,” Dillner pointed out will be mutton busting and mini bull riding.
The rodeo is one of the features events for the annual weeklong Jackson County Fair, July 28 through August 1, at the fairgrounds in Holton.
Information is available on the fair group’s Facebook.
