Climax of livestock competitions at the recent Morris County Fair in Council Grove was the round-robin showmanship championships when winners from each division vied for title as “the best at showing everything.”
Sarah Loomis came away the grand champion in the senior category, having qualified as the beef division winner. Reserve champion senior round-robin winner was Michaela Peterson, the reserve champion in sheep showmanship.
Grand champion in the junior round-robin division was Wyatt Buchman, the best showman in the meat goat category. Makenzie Downes collected the junior round-robin reserve championship, after being named the champion in swine showmanship.
Other competitors in the senior division were Nichole Patry, horse; Sarah Villegas, beef; Kensi Hinkle, meat goat; Erica Auchard, sheep; and Joey Carson, dairy goat.
Making up the remainder of junior round-robin championship participants were Michelle Patry and Mandy Wainwright, horse; Carissa Dalquest and Anna Schrader, beef; Sam Kirk, meat goat; Beau Peterson and Avery Lee, sheep; Hannah Stillwell and Gavin Carson, dairy goat; and Sierra Wilkerson, swine.
