She’s wearing the official crown and more eager than ever to tell rodeo’s great story throughout the state.
While Emma Losh was selected Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas 2019 last year, recent coronation ceremonies officially put her to work.
“Oh, I’ve been promoting rodeo hard all of the time, but the crowning ceremonies at Concordia prodded me on,” she assured.
More than 200 friends and supporters came from afar for the Saturday evening affair kicking off with a royalty dance.
“There were nine rodeo queens from around the Midwest in the opening production,” Queen Emma said. “It was exciting having all of the cowgirls who’ve become my close friends as part of the choreographed musical number.
“We all certainly have a mutual belief and heartfelt desire to promote our Western sport in every way,” Emma emphasized.

Excitement adrenalin was flowing rampant as celebration continued with Miss Rodeo Teen Kansas 2019 receiving her official chaps.
“I am thrilled about my especially-designed ‘Arrowhead’ chaps given with the American Freedom Riders drill team,” she acknowledged.
“I just love them,” added the 15-year-old cowgirl modeling her new colorful attire.
Traveling chaps for the queen throughout her busy reign were presented by Sara Prochaska of Lazy P Creations at Ellsworth. “They are a perfect complement to my outfits,” Queen Emma appreciated.
Miss Rodeo Teen Kansas 2019 received a coyote fur teddy bear from the Kansas Fur Harvesters. A new pro-pack for Emma’s many traveling accessories will be put to heavy use in days, weeks and months ahead.
A silent fund raising auction was in progress throughout the evening to help Emma offset upcoming travel expenses.
Following a traditional rodeo-style beef supper, prepared by mom Brenda Losh, Danny Kern of Kern Auction House went to work.
Kern served as auctioneer for an exciting live auction. “I am just amazed at the generosity of everybody in bidding for both auctions,” Emma appreciated.
The Kansas Oil & Gas Resource Fund, a nonprofit voluntary effort branded as Kansas Strong, was recognized for “huge support.” Executive director Warren Martin represented the group which works to educate about their role providing energy solutions to the country.
“Everybody seemed so happy to get involved and do their part helping out having such a fun laughing enjoyable evening. Then, it was dance time,” Emma announced.
Cowboys and cowgirls engaged the Western swing, jitterbug, foxtrot and every active and intimate two-step imaginable until the band stopped. “It must have been 11:30, or even later, dancing and enjoyment just about kept going on and on,” Queen Emma said.
Cleanup wasn’t even a major task with all hands assisting. But the officially crowned Miss Rodeo Teen Kansas 2019 admitted to sleeping in a bit Sunday morning.
That was the only relaxation for Emma Losh, daughter of Neil and Brenda Losh. A sophomore at Concordia High School, she is active in FFA, horse judging, cross country, track, and cheerleading.
Among immediate roles, Emma served in official capacity during the recent Kansas State University Rodeo at Manhattan. “I helped out in every way I could talking to spectators, sponsors and promoting the sport of rodeo,” she said.
With apparent energetic attitude beyond her years, Emma Losh is eager to tell rodeo’s story. “There’s so much about our great Western sport of rodeo that many people all ages really don’t know,” she declared.
“My goal as Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas is to change that, make them all more aware and appreciative,” Emma added.
Selected for her crown in pageantry during Dodge City Roundup Rodeo, Emma said, “I’ll be attending rodeos throughout the state.
“If any rodeo committee would like for me to help, I want them to reach out to me,” she invited. “I want to do the best job possible for the sport of rodeo.”
Queen Emma will ride in grand entries, serve as a flag bearer, move cattle and promote rodeo to spectators. “I believe you have to get involved and give 100 percent in everything you do,” Emma verified.
Anxious to give programs in schools as well as for service and community groups, Emma invited, “Please just contact me. My calendar is fast filling up, but I do still have a few open dates.”
One important rodeo on her busy agenda is the Kissimmee, Florida, professional rodeo during June. “I am limited in the times I can travel out of state during my reign and this will be one of them. I’m sure looking forward to that great rodeo,” Emma admitted.
Emma acknowledged: “I really appreciate everything my brother and my parents have done and continue to do for me.”
Intensified service lies ahead for Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas 2019. “I’m anticipating doing everything I can for the sport of rodeo,” Emma confirmed.
“God is my rock, and I will go wherever He leads me,” Emma insisted. “I may have ideas, but I always remember He is the one who opens the doors.”
