Nothing more natural and appropriate than a cowboy on his horse ready to go, Doug Cain anticipated working horseback more than all of his other most very admirable diverse abilities.

Sets Point Show June 2

The Blackjack Saddle Club has a point show scheduled Sunday, June 2, 9 o’clock, at Cico Park in Manhattan

Albert De La Garza, club president, said all Blackjack Saddle Club shows are open to the public. However, club members’ points are tabulated for yearend awards, with memberships available for purchase.

Performance and speed events are planned with competition divided into age groups. Awards are to be presented to the top six riders in each class.

Highpoint awards will be given in both performance and speed divisions of each age category.

Advance entries are not essential, but have been requested with lower fees.

“Black Jack Saddle Club is dedicated to our members,” De La Garza said. “We strive to make each activity a pleasant and safe environment for all participants.”

The first point show of the year in May was canceled due to wet arena conditions. Additional point shows this year include July 13, Little Apple Riders Equestrian Center, Saint George; August 10, K-State Rodeo Arena, Manhattan; September 8, Cico Park; and October 6, Cico Park.

Memberships, show bill, entry details and additional information about the Blackjack Saddle Club are available by emailing blackjacksaddleclub@hotmail.com.
