Pre-War Masterpieces Extravaganza Features Power Equipment Working Before 1945 For Sale At Auction

“Never underestimate a man in bibs”

“Bib overalls that is” Gib Thurman announced as inkling of just what’ll be at the Pre-War Masterpieces Consignment Extravaganza.

Lot 1 in the Pre-War Masterpieces Extravaganza is this 1912 Case 119-horsepower steam engine selling Saturday, Nov. 16, at Mulvane.

“There’ll be education and fun for all at this special consignment auction featuring pre-1945 offerings,” informed Thurman of Nixon Auctioneers.

“It’s a free event for the whole family at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane November 15th through the 17th,” Thurman said.

So what all will there be? “This event highlighted by the Saturday auction is dedicated to steam engines and tractors plus hit-and-miss engines,” Thurman clarified.

But, the list goes on and with the more than 1,480 lots offered in a total of 417 consignments.

Implements, automobiles, motorcycles, aviation, petro-liana, washing machines, cast iron seats, signs, literature, and memorabilia are among the additional listings.

Friday, Nov. 15, has been scheduled for inspection of the unique sale items. “It’ll be a play day for the consignors, prospective buyers and everybody who comes,” Thurman promised. “The steam engines and tractors will be fired up for plowing and demonstration of their great power.”

This 1917 Case Avery 40-80 tractor is being offered in the Pre-War Masterpieces Extravaganza Consignment Auction at Mulvane.

Highlight of course is the auction getting underway Saturday morning, Nov. 16, at 10 o’clock. It’ll be a live sale, but interested folks from afar are welcome to nod their ownership interests at www.proxibid.com.

“Consignments have come in from a large part of the country and are now closed due to the large volume,” Thurman confessed. “However, the interest is continuing with calls and website visits from nearly everywhere imaginable.”

While many will be nearly tuckered out at Saturday’s end, festivities will not yet have concluded.

“Sunday, November 17th, we’re headed back to the field where owners will get to try out their new toys,” Thurman assured.

Just about anybody would get a thrill shot behind the wheel of this 1931 Packard to be sold Saturday in Mulvane at the Pre-War Masterpieces Extravaganza.

Appropriate to evaluate some of the offerings set for this big historic affair first checking out Lot 1. “This is one of the nicest examples of a complete and fully restored 1912 Case engine with 110 horsepower,” Thurman verified. “It received a complete restoration and partial rebuild just a few years ago.”

A 1917 Avery 40-80 tractor is Lot 3. “This tractor comes from a well-known Kansas collector who’s given it the deserved attention,” Thurman insisted. “This tractor’s engine is ready to go to work and will be demonstrated on Friday.”

A 1932 Packard 902 series model 543 is a highlight automobile consignment.  “It has original paint with a great patina, tattered original interior, with fully functional lights, brakes, good tires and good gauges,” Thurman described. “The car has regularly driven 100-plus miles at 60 miles-per-hour, with no issues. A truly great original Packard. Ask the man who owns one.”

A tractor on steel is most apparent but they’re many other features to this 1935 Farmall F 20. It’ll be just one of more than 1,480 attractions at the Pre-War Masterpieces Extravaganza.

Every consignment is pictured with detailed descriptions at www.Nixonauctioneers.com.

“Come on out to the Pre-War Masterpieces Extravaganza this weekend at Mulvane and see history at work,” Thurman smiled invitation.

“You’ll sure be glad you came and might even get a hankering to bid on the attractions.”
