Answers to agriculture questions for developing plans to improve record book margins are on tap for Emporia.
“The second in this year’s series of Farm Profit Seminars is scheduled for Wednesday evening, February 19th,” announced Greg Akagi.
Sponsored by the 580 WIBW Farm Department, which Akagi serves as director, PrairieLand Partners John Deere will host the program.
In their location west of Emporia at 17444 County Road F, the complimentary supper with reservations begins at 6 o’clock. The Lyon County Extension Service through Kansas State University has been assisting with organizing and planning.
Nearly two dozen seminar sponsors will have booths displaying their products and services for farmers and stockmen to tour when the shop doors open at 5:30.
Informational and entertaining agriculture speakers as coordinated by Akagi begin their presentations at 6:30.
“It Is What It Is” has been given as title for Alan Maxwell’s look at “how farmers can position operations for success in the current environment.” He is a financial services officer for Frontier Farm Credit.
Regular 580 WIBW Ag Roundup guest Roger McEowen is to review current issues in agricultural law and taxation. A professor in the Washburn University School of Law, he also does work for the Kansas Farm Bureau.
Always anticipated highlight of the seminars will be a presentation by Darrell Holaday of Country Futures at Frankfort titled “Trekking Through The Market Maze.”
