With his Quarter Horses, Frank Buchman, Alta Vista rancher and feature writer, has received several yearend horseshow association honors.
In the Northeast Kansas Small Area Group (NEKSAG) nine-show circuit, Buchman was champion in pole bending, keg bending and flag race. He rode his homebred palomino Quarter Horse named Cody with the gelding’s lineage featuring four of Buchman’s stallions.
In the BlackJack Saddle Club six-show circuit, Buchman was highpoint rider in both the speed and performance divisions.
Mounted on Cody in BlackJack race competitions, Buchman rode Maggie, his buckskin Quarter Horse mare, in performance classes. Buchman and his Quarter Horses received 17 yearend awards including champion gelding and champion mare titles.
