Rocking P Ranch, Latham, teamed with S&P Cattle, Welch, Oklahoma, to win the recent Kansas Championship Ranch Rodeo (KCRR) at Medicine Lodge.
Team members are Jake Peterson, Justin Peterson, Carlee Potter, Chris Potter, and Colton Potter. They placed second in bronc riding and branding as well as third in both team penning and wild cow milking.
Second place team was Sooner Cattle Company, Pawhuska, Oklahoma, which finished second in stray gathering as well as third in bronc riding. Cody Haden, Corey Hurd, Evan Myers, and Russell Powell are team members.
Broken H Ranch, Bronson, and Nelson Angus, Leonardville, joined to be the third-place team and tied for third in bronc riding. Team members include Brock Hall, Cliff Hall, Clay Hokr, Izabel Nelson, Mike Nelson, and Brian Wurtz.
The top team had already qualified for the World Championship Ranch Rodeo sponsored by the Working Ranch Cowboys Association (WRCA). So, Sooner Cattle Company will represent the Kansas Championship Ranch Rodeo at the competition in Amarillo, Texas, November 10-13.
Ranch bronc riding was won by Buford Ranches LLC. The joint team of Bachman Ranch and Piguet Cattle Company won the stray gathering with the team of Snyder Ranch and XIT Ranch third.
Yazel Land & Cattle won team penning, with the Bachman-Piguet team placing second. Buford Ranches LLC captured the wild cow milking title.
Sweetwater Cattle joined with Hebb Cattle to win the branding event, while Bachman-Piguet placed third.
In the Kansas Championship Youth Ranch Rodeo, first place went to Rafter J Land & Cattle, Brenham, Texas.
Team riders are Will Adcock, Hank Hall, Jeremiah Highsmith, Delani Johnson, and Braxton Zibell.
Second place youth team was the combined effort of 4B and Turkey Trak. Members are Dallie Bledsoe, Daisier Bledsoe, Will Mayfield, Olivia Scott, and Aaron Watts.
Bar TF Ranch was the third-place youth team with Corbin Bailey, Will Bell, Tagg Bond, Tucker Forth, and Grady Gatewood.
In order top three teams in sorting were 4B-Turkey Trak, Rafter J Land & Cattle, and Nelson Angus.
Top three teams in doctoring included Rafter J Land & Cattle, C3 Cattle Company, and Bar TF Ranch.
Trailer loading top three were Rafter J Land & Cattle, Sand Creek Cattle Company, and Bar TF Ranch.
Branding winners were C3 Cattle Company, 4B-Turkey Trak, and Lazy 5 Ranch.
Wild steer race top three included 4B-Turkey Trak, Bar TF Ranch and California Creek Cattle Company.
For winning the youth competition at Medicine Lodge, Rafter J Land & Cattle is qualified for the second WRCA Youth World Championship Ranch Rodeo. It will also be at Amarillo, on November 12.
