Kaw Valley Rodeo Celebrating 42nd Anniversary Of Professional Rodeo Activities In Manhattan

“The best in rodeo is coming to Manhattan,” according to Sandra Chandler of the Kaw Valley Rodeo Association. “The 42nd anniversary edition of the Kaw Valley Rodeo, again sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, will feature performances at 8 o’clock, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, July 27-28– 29, at Wells Arena in Cico Park.

Buford Ranches from Craig County, Oklahoma, topped 18 teams to win the Santa Fe Trail Ranch Rodeo at Council Grove. Sanctioned by the Working Ranch Cowboys Association (WRCA), the rodeo featured cowboys competing in ranch bronc riding, team penning, calf branding, stray gathering and wild cow milking.

Third point show of the year for the Blackjack Saddle Club is Saturday morning, July 15, 9 o’clock, in Burtis Arena at the Stanley Stout Center on Manhattan’s Kansas State University campus, according to Justine Staten, club president.
