Horses Owners Updated About ‘VSV’ Concerns In Kansas

Vesicular stomatitis virus, typically referred to as VSV, remains a concern to horse owners in Kansas. Dr. Laurie Beard, Kansas State University veterinary medicine professor, gave a virtual update on VSV at the Kansas Horse Council meeting in Osage City. 

Unique Display Of 170 Trees At Lecompton’s Territorial Capital Museum

The Christmas spirit expands even more than imaginable with 170 unique trees of the season being exhibited. “We’re really proud of the large display of beautiful Christmas trees at the Territorial Capital Museum in Lecompton,” exclaimed Paul Bahnmaier, Lecompton Historical Society president.

Highpoint BlackJack Saddle Club Winners Named

Winners in the 2020 BlackJack Saddle Club six-show circuit were announced by club president Albert De La Garza at the recent yearend banquet. There were 30 riders in the 10 and under age group throughout the year, with 21 riders in the 14-17 age division, and 25 riders in the 18 and over group.

Kansas Cowboy Hall Of Fame Names Five New Inductees

Officials at the Kansas Cowboy Hall of Fame have named the 2020 class of five inductees. Induction ceremonies scheduled in early November at the Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City were canceled due to coronavirus concerns.
