Oklahoma Team Champion with local ranches ranking high at Santa Fe Trail Rodeo

Buford Ranches of Welch, Oklahoma, went home with the championship title out of a dozen teams competing at the 27th annual Santa Fe Trail Ranch Rodeo in Council Grove.

By winning the rodeo,  the working cowboys on the Craig County team earned the right to compete at the 18th annual Working Ranch Cowboys Association World Championship in Amarillo, Texas, November 7-10. Continue reading →

Special attractions for Santa Fe Trail Ranch Rodeo at Council Grove July 5-6

“Action packed” is the best way to describe the 27th annual Santa Fe Trail Ranch Rodeo set for Council Grove, Friday and Saturday, July 5-6.

“Of course, the rodeo is the biggest attraction, and it will again be sanctioned by the Working Ranch Cowboys Association,” announced Clay Wilson, president of the Morris County Youth Rodeo Association, sponsor of the first and now the oldest continuous ranch rodeo in the state. Continue reading →
