Blackjack Saddle Club Plans Saturday Show To Include Makeup Classes

The second point show of the season for the Blackjack Saddle Club is set for Saturday morning, June 9, at Cico Park in Manhattan, according to Justine Staten, club president.

Due to muddy conditions, only performance classes with the exception of reining were conducted at the first point show last Saturday. There were no running classes, so reining and speed events from that first show will be made up at this Saturday’sJune 9, show beginning at 9 o’clock.

While all Blackjack Saddle Club shows are open to the public, club members’ points are tabulated for yearend awards.

Competition for performance and speed events are divided into age groups. Awards are presented to the top six riders in each class.

Highpoint awards are also given in both performance and speed divisions of each age category.

Additional point shows include Saturday, July 7, Stanley Stout Center; Saturday, Aug. 11, Cico Park; Sunday, Sept. 2, Cico Park; and Sunday, Oct. 7, Cico Park.

All shows start at 9 o’clock, but speed events will not begin before 1:30.

A fund raising raffle is being conducted for a new pair of Ariat boots given by The Outpost. Tickets are available from Staten and can also be purchased at this Saturday’s show before the drawing that day.

“Black Jack Saddle Club is dedicated to our members,” Staten said. “We strive to make each event a pleasant and safe environment for all participants.”
