Habitual Winner At Kansas Championship Ranch Rodeo

It’s a habit for the Arndt & Bailey Ranches team.

The cowboy foursome of Ryan Arndt, Emporia; Wes Bailey, Cottonwood Falls; Josh Lilley, Manhattan; and Glen Collinge, Hamilton, again collected first place honors at the recent 2012 Kansas Championship Ranch Rodeo in Medicine Lodge.

That makes the fourth time out of the last five years for the team to collect the state title, qualifying them for competition at the Working Ranch Cowboys Association World Championship Ranch Rodeo, November 7-11, in Amarillo, Texas.

Second place went to the 2i Feeders team from Allen with Jason Gibson, Grady Gibb, Clint Bohnen and Adrian Vogel as team members.

Gibb won the ranch bronc riding event, and collected the prestigious All-Around Cowboy title at the rodeo

KW & Diamond E Ranches of Fort Scott finished third, while team members Jeff Madison, Kolby Stock, Andy Eck and Will Rosson won the wild cow milking along the way.

Fourth place went to Beachner & Lazy B Ranches of St. Paul and Ellsworth, with team members Calvin Kendall, Orban Stephens, Austin Rathbun and Eric Bohl. They also won the cattle doctoring event.

Nix & Pawnee River Ranches of Hugoton and Hanston won the team penning event, and Scribner & Haywire Ranches of El Dorado topped the double mugging contest.

Jake Gilmore of the Nix & Pawnee River Ranches team rode Dunny Lus Buck to earn the top ranch horse title.

In addition to Arndt & Bailey, other Kansas teams qualified for the World Championship Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo are 2i Feeders, Scribner & Haywire, Haden Ranch of Cedar Vale and Stierwalt & Broken H Ranches of Bronson.
