Cattle Competitions Winners Named At Flint Hills Beef Fest

The Loomis Ranch of Council Grove and Arndt Farms of Emporia were big winners in cattle competitions in conjunction with the Flint Hills Beef Fest at Emporia. Represented by Jason and Justin Loomis, the Loomis Ranch received the Beef Fest Grand Award in the steer division.

Linn County Fair Features Motor Sports Events And Professional Rodeo

“The World’s Largest Little County Fair” gets underway this week. “A Demolition Derby Double Header and an Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pull kick off the expanded Motor Sports Weekend at the Linn County Fair and Rodeo in Mound City,” according to John Teagarden, longtime fair official.

Morris County Youth Rodeo At Council Grove

A youth rodeo is planned Saturday evening, Aug. 5, 6 o’clock, at the Morris Country Rodeo Arena east of Council Grove, Kansas. Events are to include steer riding, goat tail untying, goat tying, breakaway roping, barrel racing, pole bending, chute dogging, calf roping and team roping.

Blackjack Saddle Club Schedules Horse Show

Blackjack Saddle Club has scheduled the fourth point show of the year for Sunday morning, Aug. 6. It will be in Cico Park at Manhattan beginning at 9 o’clock, according to Justine Staten, club president.

Kaw Valley Rodeo Celebrating 42nd Anniversary Of Professional Rodeo Activities In Manhattan

“The best in rodeo is coming to Manhattan,” according to Sandra Chandler of the Kaw Valley Rodeo Association. “The 42nd anniversary edition of the Kaw Valley Rodeo, again sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, will feature performances at 8 o’clock, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, July 27-28– 29, at Wells Arena in Cico Park.

Blackjack Saddle Club Plans Show Saturday

Third point show of the year for the Blackjack Saddle Club is Saturday morning, July 15, 9 o’clock, in Burtis Arena at the Stanley Stout Center on Manhattan’s Kansas State University campus, according to Justine Staten, club president. While all shows are open to the public, club members’ points are tabulated for yearend awards.
